2 Oct. - Land's End

... And so the tale continues.
A sun-warmed stroll through fields of cauliflower + chambered cairns to the sands of Gwynver Beach + 'big brother' White Sands Bay - Sennen Cove - all crystal water, peeling waves + wetsuit-clad surfers ... Then up past the lifeboat house, fishing boats + thatched stone cottages ... The Mayon Cliff Coastguard Lookout + shipwreck + finally, the First + Last House overlooking Longships Light.
Land's End ... The westernmost point of England + a long troip from John O'Groats five short weeks prior.
I have longed for this day; this place; this being.
To swim, though briefly, in this chill Cornish water under rock-crowned headlands dressed in russet bracken + then dine 'til replete ... First + Last again (but an inn this time) and as shown in an engraving of 1826 proudly displayed on the wall above their original well!
This feels so right.
Notes: The stroll to Land's End from Sennen Cove Camping and Caravanning Club Site is just wonderful. As indeed were the very welcoming managers of the Club Site and the delightful staff at the Inn. Simply a joyous day in a glorious location ... But the water was chilly indeed!
