18 Oct. - Greenwich

 Image: H4 ... Simply mind-boggling!

Downriver from Westminster, under Tower Bridge + past Isle of Dogs to Greenwich, home of the Prime Meridian - a wonderful collective story - and the Harrison clocks that carried it to distant longitudes. They are every bit as beautiful + astounding as you hope, and difficult to leave.

Through a heavy downpour + hail, back to the river to Tower Pier + then wandering the bridge, Butlers Wharf + the Great Fire Monument.

Then Underground + on foot once more - Covent Garden for cookies, Trafalgar Square, Piccadilly Circus at dusk, then Regent Street, Oxford Circus + Bond Street for the tube back 'home' to Bayswater.

A real game of Monopoly + fun to jostle with the Friday evening crowds.

Notes: Playing 'real-world' Monopoly is an entertaining way to justify falling into the tourist trap of 'must-see' location visits. But Greenwich and the Harrison clocks were the true highlight of the day for me.
